¶ Creating Models in EaConnect
Models serve as containers for analytical objects like Component Tables, Cubes, Spreadsheets, and Workbooks in EaConnect.
¶ Creating a New Model
To create a new model:
- Navigate to the Models section in the left sidebar
- Click the Create New button in the top right corner
- A modal window will appear with the model creation form:

¶ Required Fields

¶ Access Relevant Dimensions (Optional)
The "Access relevant dimensions" field is optional but controls data visibility across your organization.
When you mark a dimension as "access relevant":
- Users must have explicit access to that particular dimension to view any associated data
- Users without access to a selected dimension will not see data for that model or its components
- This setting affects all model components (Component Tables, Cubes, Spreadsheets, Workbooks)

¶ Completing Model Creation
After configuring your model settings:
- Review all entered information
- Click the Save button to create the model
Once saved, your new model will appear in the Models list, ready for you to add components.
